Alameda, CA -- 5/12/08 -- Black Diamond Video announces the release of the SXPS Processor, which combines flexible I/O, seamless single-link and dual-link DVI switching, simultaneous USB switching, smooth scaling and windowing in a compact 2U device suitable for aerospace, defense, medical and pro AV applications. Current applications include 3D Visualization, command-and-control centers, medical imaging, pre- or post-production editing and digital cinema.  

The SXPS Processor has asymmetrically configurable I/O with possible combinations including 16x8, 12x12, 12x8, 12x4, 8x16, 8x12, 8x8, 8x4, 4x8, 4x12 and 4x4.  The SXPS supports mixed single-link and dual-link DVI applications. Options include quad-output dual/single-link scaler cards, quad-windowing cards for multiple windows, and a 12x12 USB matrix switching card.

The SXPS input supports 60 meters of copper DVI cable without external conditioning, as well as Black Diamond Video’s current line of phantom-powered signal converters for any non-DVI input device (RGB, standard-definition, SD/HD-SDI). The SXPS supports DVI-ready fiber optic I/O, and SXPS output supports 60 meters of copper DVI cable with phantom-powered conditioning at the display device. SXPS controls include RS232, 10/100/1000T Ethernet, and Java GUI. Additional features include I/O EDID management, I/O status, timing measurements, test pattern generation, extensive diagnostics and field upgradeable firmware.

4/26/06: Black Diamond Video Releases the Industry’s first Seamless, DVI Matrix Switch with Frame-Grab capability

 

Alameda, CA -- 4/26/06 -- Black Diamond Video, an innovative manufacturer of digital video processing equipment, announced today the release of the XPS PRO2000, the industry’s first seamless 8x8 DVI matrix switch with frame-grab capability.

The XPS PRO2000 is part of an infrastructure that provides seamless matrix switching and frame-grabs for any analog or digital video source over distance through copper when coupled with Black Diamond Video’s DVI CONVERTERS and DVI X-TREME Cable Kits.
           

The XPS PRO2000 8x8 DVI matrix switch supports single-link DVI operation at a maximum TMDS rate of 1.65 Gb/s, with input and output rates from 640x480 up to 1900x1200.  The matrix switch provides input frame-grab capability and output frame-grab previews.  When coupled with Black Diamond Video’s phantom-powered DVI X-TREME Cable Kits, the switch can transmit DVI signals over 60 meters on both the input and output for an aggregate distance of 120 meters over copper at the maximum TMDS rate of 1.65 Gb/s. 4/26/06: Black Diamond Video’s DVI CONVERTERS Simplify Processing of Any Video Source over a Normalized DVI “Digital Backbonetm”.

 

Alameda, CA -- 4/26/ 06 -- Black Diamond Video announced today the release of its DVI CONVERTER series which convert any analog or SDI video source to DVI.  The DVI CONVERTER models include the SD-CONV, RGB-CONV and SDI-CONV which convert standard definition NTSC/PAL/SECAM, RGB and SDI signals to DVI with supported signal rates from 640x480i up to 1920x1200.
 
By Normalizing analog and SDI signals to DVI at the source, signal quality is improved while simplifying video processing and integration.  When coupled with Black Diamond Video’s DVI X-TREME Cable Kits, DVI signal integrity is maintained over 60 Meters of copper at the maximum TMDS rate of 1.65 Gb/s.  The DVI CONVERTERS are designed to work seamlessly with Black Diamond Video’s latest generation of DVI image processors and non-blocking matrix switches which include the Phantom 800, XPS PRO1000 and XPS PRO2000.  This DVI “Digital Backbonetm” eliminates analog problems such as noise and attenuation by bringing DVI to the source.
