Black Diamond Video has created a completely digital DVI architecture for high-resolution video signal processing, including long-distance DVI cabling over copper, matrix switching, scaling, and frame-grabs. By converting any analog or SDI source into a DVI source with Black Diamond Video’s DVI Converters, the same level of cabling, switching, scaling and frame-grabs can be applied to any video source without the need for multi-format switches and cables.

Installation is easier, because only one cable and one matrix switch or signal processor is needed to handle any video source. Signal quality is better because analog cabling problems are eliminated. Black Diamond Video allows customers to use their legacy analog or SDI video source today, with the ablility to upgrade to DVI in the future at their own pace over this DVI “Digital Backbone”.
